She first gained popularity in the entertainment industry as a stand-up comedian in 1980. Through that, she landed her role in a self-titled sitcom, which went on to get her Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. The popular series ran between 1988 – 1997. The series was later rebooted in 2018 on ABC but cancelled after a controversial racist tweet. She later blamed the post on sleeping pills and called it a “bad joke” in an apology.
Over the years, Roseanne has also been a vocal poltiical activist — even attempting to run for President back in 2012. She has also been a supporter of Donald Trump over the years.
